Laforet - Summer Grand Bazar

The Grand Bazar is Laforet Harajuku’s biggest sale event of the year. During this sale, young people line up around the block before the store even opens. Sometimes the crowds are so big they can’t let everyone in.

To express the real excitement over the sale we invented a design aesthetic we called “impatient typo”. Inspired by the frantic energy of typing when you are too excited about something, we create all sorts of intentionally typo-filled messages building anticipation for the sale. Our larger than life visuals were used as OOH on the outside of Laforet Harajuku. We also designed limited edition shopping bags and a unique megaphone to be used in stores. Ironically, our design littered with “impatient typos”, went on to claim a pencil for graphic design at D&AD.
