Nike Japan - Music Shoe

Nike came to us to create some noise around the release of the latest Nike Free shoe a shoe known for its lightness and insane flexibility.

Riffing off the Nike Free’s extreme flexibility, we worked with world-class technologists to create a shoe that could be played as a musical instrument. After months of prototyping, we created a final product that musicians could fully play. Depending on how they bent the shoe, the sound changed. We captured a live performance, working with musicians from the group Hifana, and put out a video that travelled around the world, earning headlines from all of the top media and technology blogs.
